New York’s JFK airport was “evacuated due to a security incident” over the weekend of July 4th as police officers sped to the scene

TERMINAL 4 at New York’s JFK airport was reportedly evacuated as police warned of a “security incident” over the weekend of July 4th.

Police in an armored vehicle were seen deployed to the scene on Sunday afternoon.

The airport’s official Twittrer account wrote: “PAPD is currently investigating a security incident at Terminal 4.

“Please anticipate traffic delays and allow additional travel time. Thank you for your patience.”

Travelers posted pictures of crowds outside the terminal building on Twitter, claiming the complex had been evacuated.

Officials have yet to confirm whether the entire terminal building was evacuated or just part of it.

The Sun reached out to the Port Authority Police Department at JFK, but they declined to comment at this time.

NYDP also has no updates yet, aside from the fact that Port Authority police are responding to the incident.
