Just as you cross the river (no pun intended) and through the woods, the bridge on New York Avenue between Hamilton and Egg Harbor Town reopens.
That news, which will be met with near tearful joy from motorists in the area, was shared on Facebook this morning by County Commissioner Amy Gatto.
Despite its small size, that bridge serves as an important link for motorists traveling between Reega and West Jersey Avenues in the EHT and 40th Street in Mays Landing.
The bridge was closed on February 16 due to structural problems. Over the past 309 days, motorists have had to use a series of detours to get through the closed area.
According to a report from the Daily, the cost to rebuild the bridge was about $1.4 million.
