New Stranger Things Monopoly Game Spoils Season 4 (No Spoilers Here!)

If you are eagerly awaiting the fourth season of stranger thingsit might be a good idea to avoid game nights for a while.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, some major plot points have been leaked in the new season of the Netflix flagship series through a new connection game from Hasbro’s Monopoly. The product, which reworks classic Monopoly iconography to depict the characters and situations from the eerie Hawkins, Indiana, has reproduced playing cards online that will spoil upcoming episodes. (And no, you won’t find those details here.)

Per THR, brothers and series co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer are said to be furious over the leak. Due to the large amount of licensed merchandise associated with the show, the Monopoly game does not appear to have been properly reviewed or flagged as a potential spoiler.

Apparently, the Duffers are having a “total breakdown” on this, and we understand why. It’s been nearly three years since new episodes of the Netflix Original came out, and fans are nervous to find out key plot points, like how Jim Hopper (David Harbour) survived the Starcourt Mall explosion and if Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) will regain her powers or not.

Since its premiere in 2016 stranger things– a homage to Steven Spielberg’s 1980s fantasies – is among the most-watched series on Netflix. In the first four weeks of its release in 2019, season three garnered around 64 million views.

The fourth season of stranger things has been split into two parts, with the first streaming on May 27th and the second arriving on July 1st. The fifth season is expected to be the last.
