New Orleans was hit by a “big tornado,” with houses torn apart and major damage in its path amid warnings of tighter weather

A MAJOR tornado hit New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward, and officials urged residents to seek shelter immediately.
The storm is considered very dangerous and also hit Arabi in the parish of St. Bernard on Wednesday.

Just nine months ago, on March 22nd, the same area was devastated by an EF-3 tornado.
Residents began sharing videos of a large funnel cloud on social media as heavy rain was heard in the background.
The National Weather Service described the storm as a “particularly dangerous situation.”
Parts of Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi were under tornado watch through Wednesday night.


Another tornado earlier this week killed a mother and son.
Terrifying videos showed the tornado that struck the town of Keithville, about 15 miles south of Shreveport, on Tuesday.
The storm killed a 30-year-old mother and her eight-year-old son after destroying their home.
The mother’s body was found under rubble a street from her home after originally being listed as missing, Fox News reported.
Her son’s body was found hours earlier in the woods at Pecan Farms, about a half-mile from the home, according to the Caddo Township Sheriff’s Office.
In addition, dozens of people were injured by Tuesday’s extreme weather, which spanned regions from Oklahoma and the Dallas/Fort Worth region to Mississippi.
