A heavy “bombardment” of the sun has turned May’s monthly magnetic storm forecast into dust. This is an occasion to reinforce the rule that any information available more than three days in advance has a low level of credibility and is intended for guidance only.

Eruptions from several active regions of the Sun in geoeffective orbit are responsible for the geomagnetic storms since St. George’s Day. The good news is that the storms formed were of low intensity and only reached warning levels of the K index in the country.
