New footage of Casemiro red card scrap emerges and Man Utd fans are convinced it will help him get the ban lifted

MANCHESTER UNITED fans are convinced Casemiro will be stripped of his red card after new footage of his ruck with Will Hughes emerged.
The Brazilian received his marching orders from referee Andre Marriner after a VAR check showed he grabbed the Crystal Palace midfielder by the neck.

The red card result will see Casemiro miss United’s next three domestic games, which come against Leeds (home and away) and Leicester City.
However, United fans are now hoping the suspension can be lifted after fan footage showed a different side of the altercation.
Footage shows Casemiro and Hughes laughing at the incident after the argument between the two sides has ended.
And by the reaction of the two, fans are convinced there was less violent behavior.
One tweeted: “I think it will be filmed if United appeal.”
A second wrote: “Damn it. Casemiro and Hughes laugh about it.”
A third commented: “This must be the first instance where a player has been sent off for violent behavior and the ‘attacked’ player fails to respond and then hugs their attacker.”
A fourth said: “Come on this is not violent behavior in any way.”

A fifth added: “Unknowingly, if someone showed you this and told you that one of the players involved will receive a straight red and three-game suspension, don’t guess Casemiro.
“The slowed down angle used by VAR admittedly looked a lot worse, but from this angle it’s almost ridiculous.”
After the game, manager Erik ten Hag slammed Marriner for his lack of inconsistency in the game as he failed to show Jordan Ayew a red card for a similar offense.
He said: “The Crystal Palace player is taking a huge risk – of being badly injured – by this foul by pushing him over the line.
“Everyone is reacting, Crystal Palace players and Man United players, not just Casemiro.
“There was one of the players who did even worse than Casemiro.

“You have to be consistent.”
The red card made the game more difficult for United as their two-goal lead was halved but they held on to victory.
