Cillian Murphy’s British Crime Series Peaky Blinders finally got a release date in the state. TVLine shared an updated release on Thursday, March 10. Peaky Blinders season 6 has debuted on BBC One, marking the first season without actress Helen McCrory who died of cancer last April at the age of 52.
The sixth and final installment of the acclaimed series will end this April. But US fans won’t be watching for a few more months, as Netflix has revealed the new season won’t drop on Netflix US until June.
Launched in 2013, Peaky Blinders after the exploits of a gang led by crime boss Tommy Shelby (Murphy) in Birmingham, England. Besides Murphy and McCrory, Peaky Blinders has featured many famous British actors during 5 seasons, such as Tom Hardy, Annabelle Wallis, Paddy Considine, Adrien Brody, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sam Claflin, Stephen Graham, Charlotte Riley, Iddo Goldberg, Sam Neill and Aidan Gillen.
Netflix season 6 Peaky Blinders release date in the US
All six episodes of the sixth and final season of the British drama will premiere on Friday, June 10. That’s much later than we previously anticipated. Peaky Blinders seasons 4 and 5 were released on Netflix in North America within weeks of their UK premiere.
The final season of the series is slated to premiere on BBC One on April 6, so we’re assuming the new season will come to Netflix US in late April, April 8 or 15, as Netflix usually release big shows on Fridays. That would fit in with the timeline shared by the previous two seasons.
Instead, North American fans will have to stick with the first five seasons until June. Hopefully, the end of this beloved series is worth the wait! What do you hope will happen in the last six episodes of the show?
