A NEIGHBOR has shared opinion by writing a wild message to a mother down her street, demanding that her children stop playing “so loudly” outside.
A snap of the anonymous note was shared on a Facebook page in Western Australia by someone named Sophie, although it’s unclear whether or not she was the person who actually received it.
“Your next-door neighbors aren’t happy when the foot slams the fence and it causes their dogs to bark, which then wakes up the whole street,” the note begins, after acknowledging the parent’s recent move into her street.
“Could you please be quieter and respect us. We prefer not to involve external bodies,” wrote the neighbor.
But it wasn’t just the loud playing that bothered her, but also the trailer parked in front of the property.
“They also have a trailer on the property where someone lives,” they concluded.
“You need permission from the council. Thank you, your neighbors.”
Those who commented on the post were largely divided, with one person insisting the neighbor had the right to write it.
“I think anything repeatedly bumping into the fence would be upsetting to any human being, a little respect goes a long way,” argued one.
“Children have the right to play in their own homes, but they don’t have to be constantly banging against the fence to have fun.”
Others sided with the note recipient.
“Thank you number 19 for being an amazing mom letting your kids be kids,” one wrote.
“We are elderly and driving our trailer south to a farm over the Christmas holidays there are children and dogs (dogs on leash) running and playing with each other and what a happy noise they all make and yes it makes us happy Smile, we were young once and so where your neighbors.”
And another hilariously added: “If I had gotten that note I probably would have thought about keeping the kids’ noise levels a bit low – to the point of the outside agencies’ threat.
“I would buy the kids a drum kit.”
Someone else commented on the point about the caravan, writing: “Who really cares if someone is in a caravan in these times of very few rentals.
“How cruel to go on like this. I wouldn’t care if every single home in WA had a trailer in their backyard at that time.”
