Neighbors find children running around outside without shoes or coats. When cops try to wake mom and dad, it’s obvious what they’ve done

A mother and father in Oklahoma are facing serious charges after their children walked outside without shoes or coats.

According to the KJRH, several residents of the Tulsa neighborhood immediately became concerned and ran outside when they saw a 3-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy playing in the street without adult supervision.

It was only 30 degrees outside that day but the two young siblings reportedly played without shoes or coats.

Neighbors immediately called the police, who took care of the two small children and checked on the parents.

According to the KJRH, when authorities entered the home, they found the children’s parents, Matthew and Stormee Brown, asleep.

“You slept deeply. We shouted that we were the police and the sheriff’s department and they didn’t hear us until we shook them,” said Cpl. Eric Anderson, of the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office.

Police later revealed that the couple surrounded themselves with lots of drug paraphernalia, leading investigators to believe they may have been using methamphetamine before passing out.

With the children removed from their care, the Browns are currently dealing with child neglect and drug offenses.
