NBA fans slam the league as an ‘unwatchable ref show’ after a technical foul was dealt to the Golden State Warriors star

NBA fans have called out the league after a technical foul was inflicted on Jordan Poole, star of the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.

Poole, 23, received a technical foul in the Warriors’ 137-128 away loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After Golden State trailed by three points early in the fourth quarter, Warriors forward JaMychal Green was called for an offensive foul.

After the foul, Poole had the ball and passed it to the NBA umpire.

However, the referee did not take the apparently normal pass lightly and hit the shooting guard with a technical foul.

That led to Poole contradictingly raising his arms to his head.

And NBA fans echoed Poole’s frustration on social media.

One tweeted: “NBA umpires are seriously the gentlest people in the world! You can not be serious.”

While another said: “They always talk about the players being soft during this period but never mention how those umpires stay in their feelings lol.”

And a third wrote: “The NBA reg season is an unmissable referee show.”

Poole won a championship with the Warriors last season.

Since then, however, Poole has had his ups and downs.

He was punched in the face by Draymond Green in a pre-season training camp incident.

Poole received a four-year, $140 million contract extension a week after the incident.

But the 2022/23 season was disappointing for the young guard.

While his score has increased slightly — 20.7 points per game from 18.5 last year — his turnovers have risen to a career-high 3.2 per game.

And in his last eight games, Poole shoots 33.3 percent from field and 25.4 percent from three-point range.
