NBA fans in stitches comment on Kevin Harlan as Dillon Brooks ‘dirty’ smack on Donovan Mitchell leads to brawl and sacking
MEMPHIS Grizzlies players Dillon Brooks and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell were both ruled out of Thursday night’s game.
Brooks attempted a layup when he was blocked by Evan Mobley, sending him to the ground.
Brooks turned and threw a hand into Mitchell’s groin, leading to a fight.
Mitchell, who grabbed the rebound, fell to the ground after the hit and threw the ball at Brooks.
Then he got up and immediately pushed Brooks.
The two continued to push each other, eventually knocking Brooks to the ground.
Players from both teams emerged from the sidelines and staff could be seen pinning Brooks to the ground from the chaos.
Fans watching at home took to Twitter to respond to the incident – but most notably Kevin Harlan’s comment.
As a repeat of Brook’s punch to Mitchell’s groin was played, Harlan said, “BOINK.”
Tons of fans were quick to comment on the sound effect.
“Kevin Harlan when he says ‘boink’ assumes a weird thing and really only takes it to the moon,” one person tweeted.
“Kevin Harlan is a legend for screaming BOINK,” wrote another.
“I could hear Kevin Harlan screaming BOINK for the next 20 minutes and it’s not going to stop being funny,” another chipped in.
“DIRTIEST NUT SHOT SINCE CHRIS PAUL,” tweeted another.
The Cavaliers went on to win the game 128-113.
