Nate Diaz says he’s not interested in facing Colby Covington; I’d rather fight welterweight champion Kamaru Usman

Nate Diaz has hinted that he is not interested in a potential fight against Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington. However, Diaz will be ready to face Covington’s most recent opponent, the reigning UFC welterweight champion. Kamaru Usman.

The Stockton native has been in the UFC since 2007 and has consistently faced some of the best fighters the sport of MMA has to offer. In an interview with TMZ Sports, Diaz explained that “anyone in the top 10” would be the ideal opponent for him.

Nate Diaz emphasized that he is eager to rematch and is ready to take on a top 10 fighter “in any weight class”. Diaz then indicated that he would ideally like to fight an opponent in the top five. The MMA legend stated:

“Top-five, top-five; I’m fighting one of the top five ASAP. Let’s do January in; Where is the January war? The interviewer hinted that there was a UFC event in Anaheim in January, after which, Diaz added, “Anaheim. Yes.”

Furthermore, when asked to name the top UFC fighter he wants to face, Nate Diaz said:

“You bastard spit it out. Anyway, you are all scared.” The interviewer went on to ask if the fight against Colby Covington excites him. Diaz responded by affirming, “Colby Covington just got hit**. I will take the winner of his last fight. “

Nate Diaz shoots down a potential fight against Khamzat Chimaev

Moreover, Khamzat Chimaev also called Nate Diaz’s name many times. That said, speaking to TMZ Sports, Diaz thinks a “rookie” like Chimaev doesn’t deserve to be up against him.

The UFC mainstay points out that Khamzat Chimaev should take on the rising fighters and take his place. Nate Diaz’s next opponent and exact return date have yet to be officially revealed.
