Nashville SC vs FC Cincinnati predictions, previews, team news and more

Nashville SC will try to keep the pre-season momentum as they resume FC Cincinnati in Clearwater, Florida on Tuesday.

Nashville SC is one of the most stable teams in the 2021 season, also their first campaign. They finished third in the Western Conference table and then defeated City of Orlando 3-1 in the first turn of the playoffs. But they were eliminated in the Conference semifinals by the Philadelphia Union.

They were able to strengthen the roster significantly during the off-season break. 31-year-old striker Teal Bunbury has been signed from New England Revolution. He scored Nashville’s third goal in their 3-1 win over Charlotte FC in their first pre-season friendly after CJ Sapong netted a brace.

Signing midfielder Sean Davis on a free transfer is a commendable move. Nashville SC lacked depth in midfield last term. There were too many opportunities for Anibal Godoy and Dax McCarty because the players below them were not of the same quality but the arrival of Davis changed that.

They also signed Josh Bauer from second-tier Atlanta United 2 in last year’s re-entry draft. He had an impressive performance against Charlotte FC.

Meanwhile, FC Cincinnati still has a lot to show after finishing bottom of the table in the Eastern League. They have re-signed right-back Alvas Powell, who was part of their team at their inauguration MLS 2019 season

After settling in a 1-1 draw with the Philadelphia Union in the first week of February, FC Cincinnati defeated St. Louis City SC 4-0 at Walter Campbell Sports Park last Friday. Luciano Acosta scored a brace while Nick Markanich and Nick Hagglund each scored as Cincinnati claimed their second win of the season.

Cincinnati will face Orlando City after the game against Nashville on Tuesday. Their 2022 MLS season will begin on February 26 with Austin FC.
