NAPOLI coach Luciano Spaletti is reportedly set to resign if Kalidou Koulibaly leaves the club this summer.
Koulibaly, 30, is one of the most sought-after defenders in world football.
Many clubs have tried to sign him over the years but Napoli have refused to let him go.
The defender is reportedly looking to move away this summer but Spaletti is now threatening to quit coaching if the club allow him to leave.
According to Corriere dello Sport of Spanish outlet Sport, the 63-year-old has informed the club of his plans.
However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already admitted they cannot force the defender to stay.
He said: “He is a symbol for Napoli and if he doesn’t want to be a symbol anymore, he has to make a choice.
“We have to make a decision. We want Koulibaly to stay, but people cannot be forced to stay.
“Everyone has their own dignity and needs. We respect everyone.”
Various clubs have expressed interest in signing Koulibaly, including Chelsea and Barcelona.

The Blues are reportedly ready to offer him a £8.5million-a-year contract to lure him to Stamford Bridge, but they must first meet his £34million valuation.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are looking for defensive reinforcements this summer after losing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, both of whom went on free transfers.
While Barcelona are also considering a nosedive for the Napoli defender, the current financial crisis could prevent a deal from being finalised.
The club’s economic vice-president Eduard Romeu has revealed that they need half a billion euros to avoid financial ruin, so they have to sell a number of players before considering any additions.
