Mystery of couple stabbed to death while cycling home solved with credit card receipts and mysterious initials

POLICE was able to track down a suspect in connection with the death of a stabbed couple after a server recognized him as the person she served.

Last Tuesday, photos and videos of a man, now identified as Jean Macean, were shared in connection with the murder of a husband and wife in Daytona Beach.

That’s when Valerie Court, a waitress in the area, realized she was serving the man on Saturday, March 5. Macean also used a credit card to pay for his meal. .

“I’m glad I was able to help them get a dangerous person off the road,” Court said.

Court said that Macean sat at the late lunch table wearing an outfit she had seen on the news. The man was also carrying a backpack.

“I thought maybe he wanted to be alone, because he had a brief word with me, so I just filled his teapot,” she said.

A few hours after their brief meeting, Terry and Brenda Aultman repeatedly stabbed early Sunday morning. The couple were cycling home at the time of their deaths.

The court said that the man paid by credit card.

“It doesn’t have his name on it. It said ‘my temporary payment card’ but he abbreviated it, signed it and abbreviated it as ‘JM’,” she said.

Using that receipt, police were able to trace Jean Macean to a location in Orlandofinally caught him there.

“I want to arrest this guy. I want to help the police department and help the community,” Court said.

“I know I have valuable information.”

Court contacted police before the agency prepared to offer a $50,000 reward. It is unknown when or if the reward will be paid.

“I’m not doing it for the reward, I’m doing it for the police department to help get a dangerous person off the street,” she said.

The court said she was still panicking when she met the suspect but was relieved that he was identify and arrest.
