Mystery of a missing woman who disappeared without a trace from her house after her husband demanded money

A WOMAN has disappeared after her husband claimed she left home with thousands of dollars.

Sandy Eckert, 70, was reported missing after leaving her home in Franklin, Wisconsin on March 26, 2021.

Her husband Wes claimed she left with the money after an alleged argument over his late mother’s will.

Sandy was originally listed as a missing person, but Franklin police officers said they have now launched a murder investigation.

Sgt Jeremy Fadness told PEOPLE that two people of interest have been identified and both are known to Sandy.

Police officers executed a search warrant at a property in Waukesha where they arrested a man. He was later released.

Cops have confirmed no one is in custody, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Sandy was reported missing by her daughter after she failed to show up for Easter brunch, according to TMJ4.

Cops said she was last seen in black leggings, sneakers and a North Carolina tarheels jacket.

Sandy’s gray 2005 Dodge Stratus was spotted in Muskego – hours after she disappeared.

Police officers have since checked waterways near the area looking for possible leads.

As part of their investigation, the investigators also confiscated electronic devices in her apartment.

They said she has not used her bank account or cell phone since her disappearance.

Wes has vehemently denied his involvement in Sandy’s disappearance.

He told TMJ4 that police officers showed up at his home after armed officers searched his brother’s property.

He said he was the last to speak to Sandy.

He told TMJ4: “The last thing she told me was that I would hear from her attorney.

MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE

“So at first I just sat around waiting for a lawyer to show up and ruin the rest of my life.”

He claimed she took “a lot” of money but said she doesn’t spend cash.

He suspects there was foul play as he claims he heard about her.

Wes also claimed she would not abandon her children and grandchildren.

Sandy’s daughter Kelsey told the Journal-Sentinel that she spent thousands of dollars seeking justice.

Sandy’s family created the HelpfindSandy website where tips can be submitted online.

They’re offering a $50,000 reward for a tip that could lead to a conviction.
