Mystery as five found shot dead at home as police say none of victims were relatives

FIVE people were found dead in the same South Carolina home.

Police were called to the home in Spartanburg County, South Carolina on Sunday following reports of a shooting.

Four people were found dead at the scene, while a fifth died in hospital while undergoing surgery on his injuries.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office identified one victim but refused to release the name to the public.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger told Go Upstate that the five victims all suffered gunshot wounds, some multiple.

All the victims were found in different parts of the house, he added.

No minors were involved and Clevenger said he believes the victims were unrelated.

“Following the discovery, EMS responded and only one person was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he died during surgery.

“The other four had passed away and remained on the ground,” Clevenger said.

Clevenger added that his office is currently conducting autopsies.
