Mystery as 9 year old boy dies after being found unresponsive by grandfather in the shower

A BOY has died after being found unresponsive by his grandpa in the shower, cops have revealed.

Police officers rushed to a home in Houston, Texas on September 24 after receiving reports of a suspected drowning.

K. Anthony Miller of the Houston Police Department said the nine-year-old boy was found unresponsive in the bathtub, KPRC-TV reported.

Officials said the youth, whose name was not released, was in the shower at the time.

The boy’s grandpa pulled him out of the tub and immediately began CPR.

Cops said he was taken to Texas Medical Center, where he tragically died.

The boy’s cause of death has not been released as the investigation continues.

Dozens of Facebook users have expressed their condolences to the boy’s family.

Cops revealed two other children were home at the time of the tragedy.

Experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found that more children between the ages of one and four have died from drowning.

And nationwide, there were more than 3,900 fatal accidental drownings each year.

Shocking data has shown that nearly 80 percent of people who have died from drowning are men, according to the CDC.
