The burned body of a man was found in an alley, police revealed.
The remains were discovered just after 3 a.m. on June 13 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Officials revealed they found the burned body of an unidentified man near a park, WLKY reports.
Homicide detectives have launched an investigation as police do not know how the man was killed.
Coroners will conduct an autopsy while trying to determine a cause of death.
However, officials believe that third-party negligence is suspected.
The area where the body was found is known as Rubel Park.
Neighbors said they were woken up by officers and crime tape surrounding the park.
Local Gabrielle Williamson told WLKY: “I share a maisonette and have spoken to my neighbor [about] as this park is usually very quiet.”
She revealed that she usually listens to children play during the day.
Williamson told the outlet that the park is usually “quite sublime, quiet and relaxed” in the evenings.
Police have not made any arrests or identified potential suspects.
