My son, 12 years old, got the shock of his life when he found CRAB in the toilet

A CHILDREN boy received the horror of his life after finding a crab in a public toilet.
Arthur Moon, 12, discovered the stranded crustacean at a market in Birmingham earlier this month – and was told by a local stallholder it would be “dead in a few hours”.
But Melanie’s mother was determined to rescue the abandoned crab and decided to take it back to their home in Coventry where they keep it in the salad drawer.
The woman told BirminghamLive that she initially took her son to the local market to get some bread when Arthur noticed something strange in a public place.
She said: ‘Arthur needed the bathroom and mistakenly went into the baby changing area. He’s on the pitch and I’ve never seen him so excitable!
“He took my hand and made me go see it.
“There was a little crab that was wearing it around the room and then it tried to hide in the corner.”
Confused by the discovery, the mother decided the best policy was to bring the baby crab with them.
When they got home, Melanie created a homemade living space in the family’s salad drawer for the crab – which they later named Gary.
“I thought, ‘I know, I’m going to get the salad drawer out of the fridge,'” she said.
“I take the sand from a bag in the garden on the bottom and then soak it in brine.”
Melaine describes how the creature begins to go from one strength to another as it gets used to its new environment.
However, knowing that it was impossible to keep the crab in a box forever, the mother and son decided to make a five-hour trip to Devon to release it back into the sea.
Feeling inspired, the mother decided to task her with buying more crabs at the market and releasing them for free.
Melanie has raised over £200 on GoFundMe to continue making the long journey south.
