In a current Videothe pet keeper (@tuna_lynn) shared tips for people considering adding a ferret to their family.

The animal influencer began the informational video with clips of Tuna playing around her home while explaining some of the difficulties holding her little friend brings.

First, she said that ferrets actually crave a lot of attention from their owners and love to be played with.

She wrote this message over a clip of tuna climbing around on a bearded dragon as it appears to be looking for a playmate.

Another sad fact about ferrets is that they only live about six to ten years, making their life expectancy relatively short.

It could also be difficult to keep track of your little polecat relative, as they’ve been known to flee homes and cages.

According to the TikToker, Tuna once left home and disappeared in terror for 19 hours before she was found.

The little scammers also steal everything they can get their hands on, which means your home could be messier than normal.

The pet influencer doesn’t mind, however, as she said it was actually hilarious to watch.

There is also a question of money as ferrets are quite expensive to purchase, especially if you can get one that has been defragmented for private use.

The tuna owner made it clear that once you can buy one, it doesn’t cost much to maintain, but you should still be financially stable enough to afford a surprise visit to the vet.

While the negatives seem to be piling up, there are plenty of good reasons why you should adopt a ferret.

First off, the squiggly hunks are endless entertainment and will always put a grin on your face, the TikToker said.

She showed how silly Tuna was by throwing her onto a bean bag chair and recording her hilarious reaction.

Another good reason to have a ferret is that they get along well with other animals.

According to the pet owner, Tuna enjoys playing games and interacting with her dogs and cats.

She’s always up for a tug of war and will chase you around the house in a rousing game of tag.

While they have plenty of energy when awake, the TikToker also said that they should sleep about 14 to 18 hours a day so they don’t bother you too much.

Finally, ferrets are actually highly intelligent creatures, which makes them just as interesting as a pet as a regular cat or dog.

The tuna’s owner clarified in the caption that her ferret was her only experience of the species, but her hilarious clips and great advice were enough to make everyone want to get one.
