My neighbors told me to stop barking at my dog - I was horrified to come home to find him HANGED

A horrified mother has described coming home to find her dog hanged after his barking sparked a dispute with neighbours.

Pauline Joly has described returning home to find her beloved pet, Orus, hanging from a beam by a choke collar.

The young mother was told to part with her beloved dogs "solution" to disruption

She took to Facebook to warn of the serious incident that nearly cost her beloved Malinois pooch.

The young mother explained that four years ago she bought a property in the small village of Lihus, France, where she moved with her young family and two dogs.

“Since we arrived in the village, the neighbors have complained that my dogs bark when we’re gone,” Joly said.

The young woman pointed out that while there are a dozen dogs in the village of just under 415 residents, her two puppies appear to be “the most annoying.”

Prior to last Saturday’s alleged sadistic act, Joly said the family had faced several other apparent attempts to scare them.

And that included finding her rear car window cracked and discovering meatballs filled with nails and screws she believed were meant for her dogs.

After these incidents, the mayor of the village of Joly suggested finding a solution to the problem,

So the couple built two kennels to keep the dogs in when they were out and brought anti-bark collars with them.

But then the neighborhood dispute took a frightening turn for the worse.

“When I get home from work, I go into my yard and find that all the doors to my outbuildings are open and that one of my dogs is missing from his kennel,” she explained.

“In a panic I search for the dog, enter the building next to the kennel and discover my unconscious dog coming off a beam with a choke collar.”

After untying Orus “at a frantic pace for fear that he will not survive this act of cruelty,” Joly stayed with her pet until he thankfully regained consciousness.

“I’m still amazed at what happened. I’m shocked.”

Paramilitary police officers – the gendarmes – arrived at the scene along with a village official.

Joly claimed she was then shockingly told, “You should get rid of your dogs.”

“People are crazy: they break into my house to hang my dog. The day my two-year-old daughter is playing in the garden and making too much noise, will they try to hang her up too?” asked the mother.

Joly filed a complaint for animal cruelty.

Caroline Tharot, prosecutor at the Beauvais Courthouse, told The Sun Online: “A complaint was lodged on June 27 and inquiries are ongoing to confirm whether or not the allegations are true.”

On June 19, several complaints about the dogs barking were lodged with the Mairie, the town hall.

Thierry Levasseur, the mayor, confirmed that he had received numerous complaints over the past four years.

The mayor condemned the “unforgivable” act against Joly’s dog.

“I’m sorry about what happened. Today I am ready to reach out to find an answer or a solution.”

The Sun contacted the gendarmerie, who could not comment on the case.
