My neighbor complained about my barking dogs – so I retaliated with a huge fence he couldn’t possibly overlook

A man took violent revenge on his neighbor who asked his barking dogs for animal control.
Kyle Kurt of South Carolina (USA) responded to the complaints by building a 15-foot-tall “abominable” fence to keep the line apart.
The neighboring homeowners were involved in an argument over Kurt’s dogs, who allegedly barked at night.
Angry and possibly sleep deprived, Dustin Earnhardt joined with other neighbors to bring the man’s sheepdogs under control.
In a brilliantly brutal move, Kurt responded by erecting a giant fence between himself and his neighbor.
In a resurfaced viral clip from 2011 WYFT News reported on the neighborly dispute that spiraled out of control and ended in some bully justice.
The video was viewed over 800,000 times while TikTokers were busy debating which neighbor was at fault.
“Obviously it’s horrible,” Earnhardt said while staring at the imposing barricade surrounding his yard.
“It’s way too high, it blocks the light that enters our conservatory.
“It’s horrible, the view from inside our house is completely blocked… we can’t use a whole part of our house.”
He continued, “It’s really a shame that they’re staging something like this because it has an impact on the lives of others.”
“I think the fence was put up out of spite, we’ve had some problems with the neighbors before because of their dogs,” he added.
The fence builder defended his actions, saying: “I don’t want anyone looking into our garden and monitoring what we’re doing.”
In response to protests from his neighbors, he argued: “My thing was, why don’t they come over and talk to us? If there is a complaint, come and talk to me.”
Earnhardt claimed he only called animal control after the dogs constantly kept him and his wife from sleeping at night.
Kurt denied that claim, saying Earnhardt never contacted him.
After two visits from the animal welfare agency, Kurt decided, “That’s it – we put up the fence.”
Earnhardt was powerless, stating that there were no homeowners’ associations or local fence height regulations in his area.
He said he feared for the value of his property but hoped a surveyor could prove the fence was erected on his property and that it could be torn down.
In a later statement to the network, the fence victim said: “We want to get out of this situation.”
“We never intended to upset the neighbors enough to do such a thing.
“We were just trying to get them to calm down their dogs during sleeping hours.”
TikTok users rushed to the comments section to share their own thoughts on the vengeful behavior, with many praising the fence-building neighbor.
One wrote: “The moment he said his running space was worthless I lost respect. Deal with it.”
Another said: “brilliantly played”.

A third said: “If my neighbor built a fence that big I would be sooooo happy!!!”
“Great looking fence,” said another.
