A GIRLS mother has shared the heartbreaking story of her first child miscarriage.
Aside from the pain of losing her baby, she claims that her husband’s family blamed her for the miscarriage – and even says she deliberately got married.
To start her story, the woman explained that her husband’s family had opened up about not liking her.
“I have been in America for five years, but I am not from here. Different skin color, foreign accent,” she said in the story posted on Reddit.
“I’m not the daughter/sister-in-law they expected, but his mother and sister spoke out before.”
She later revealed that when she and her husband visited his family in person, they reacted in horror to the news that they had miscarried.
“[His sister] invited us to her place and then had the courage to say in front of everyone that it wasn’t a big deal for me to miscarry because I did it on purpose and that I wanted to have a baby anyway was NO YES,” the woman wrote.
The grieving poster confessed that she had previously let her family know that she was in no hurry to have children, which they later took as her admitting that she never wanted to have children.
The woman said her husband stood up for her and they left the house, but now, he wants to make amends with the family by letting them come and apologize.
“So how do I look at them [and] having them at my house without wanting to throw something in their face and tell them how I really feel? ‘ she questioned.
The internet raved about the list of suggestions and messages expressing sympathy for the woman.
“Put your boundaries now or you’ll be posting about them for years,” warned one commenter.
“If [your husband] wants to continue his family with you, he will have to stop their doctor now. “
The second suggested that she and her husband should cut off the family and move elsewhere.
“Life is too short to deal with people like this all the time. If you want to create a healthy family…it does not include [sister-in-law] and [mother-in-law]. ”
The woman says that any drastic measures are likely to be inappropriate because her husband simply wants people to let things go.
“Unfortunately, they are his family and I know he wants us to get along or at least civil,” she wrote in reply to another comment.
Many such daughters-in-law have gone online to express their grief over their problematic relationship with their mother-in-law.
One woman shared that her mother-in-law had skipped over their wedding anniversary and remembered them walking down the aisle like day “she lost her son.”
Another daughter-in-law claimed that his mother-in-law told him he should not get married because “People are not meant to be monogamous.”
