My husband and I sleep in separate beds

One woman warned against sleeping separately from her husband claims that having her own bed has made her sex life better than ever.

Blogger Terri-Ann Michelle used TikTok to share a raving video of her unique setup.

“I know a lot of people will disagree with this BUT I don’t care,” she wrote on a video of herself dancing.

“My husband and I don’t sleep in the same bed (for the week) and that makes our intimate relationship BETTER!”

She added that the couple’s “very different schedules and sleep habits” caused a “huge” problem for them, but now that they sleep separately, things couldn’t be better.

She concludes: “Sleeping in different beds does NOT ruin a marriage and it is more common than you might think.

Terri-Ann also captioned her video: “Intimacy doesn’t begin in the bedroom.”

While initially saying that many people would disagree with her, the majority of those who commented on the video said they also adopted a separate sleep plan and found it very effective for them.

“My husband and I have our own room, it’s the best decision ever,” one person wrote.

While another added: “Oh, I can’t stand sleeping with my husband lol. He’s a firefighter and the worst sleeper ever!

“Not about old fashioned marriage ‘rules’ but about sleep! Lol.”

And a third wrote: “OMG WE TOO! I almost feel embarrassed when people know, people judge, think it’s weird.

“New business & new baby! We have to do something! Sleep!”

In response to that comment, Terri-Ann wrote: “I’m so glad this found you!! I hope you feel a little more ‘normal’!!

“You’re doing what’s best for you guys, never be shy.”

Others disagreed, with one woman writing: “I can’t sleep without my husband.

“He can’t sleep well without me. I’ll stay that way. There’s no point in sleeping together.”

While another commented: “It’s not that I got married for better or for worse. I can’t imagine not having him in our bed. I will miss him.”
