A woman issues an urgent warning to holidaymakers after a frustrating mistake caused her to miss her long-haul flight.
Amy Grundy was supposed to be traveling to Thailand from Manchester but wasn’t allowed to fly after a small tear was discovered in her passport.

Instead of the trip of a lifetime, Amy had to tear up and down the UK to get a new passport after check-in staff noticed her passport was slightly torn.
She told TikTok all about her nightmare where she missed her expensive flight and went in search of a replacement.
In the videoAmy explained that she had boarded a train to Liverpool but no emergency passport appointments had been made there.
She then made her way to Glasgow and, through tears, managed to get a new passport.
Finally, she says: “24 hours later, £70 deposited, cried so much, I got a passport.”
Looking much happier, she warned others at the airport: “Yeah, don’t travel with a torn passport, folks.”
“Check your passport for any damage because you will be denied your flight, especially if you are going to Asia,” she added.
However, other users were quick to call out to Amy, blaming her for missing her flight.
“When did you think you could travel with it? It’s a mess,” one replied harshly.
Another wrote: “I washed my passport and thought mine was bad but it’s so damaged.”
A third chimed in: “Why if your passport is even in this state? It is a valuable document that should be maintained…”.
It comes as a woman was furious at being forced to miss her vacation after a check-in mishap that wasn’t her fault.
Jennifer McKechnie’s hopes for a break in the sun were dashed when her passport was damaged by check-in staff and she was unable to replace it.
Meanwhile, another discouraged woman had to miss her vacation because her dog had other ideas.
The Brit wanted to travel to the Canary Islands in Spain with her mother but was stopped after her pet chewed off most of her ID.
