My baby Atlas is huge at 10 months – trolls call me a “bad mom” but I love his buns and don’t care

A mother whose baby weighed a whopping 2 kilos when he was just 10 months old says cruel trolls branded her a bad mother despite his healthy diet.

Nabille Mchugh, 33, gave birth to a 7lb 14oz baby in January 2020 but by the age of 10 months the tot had grown to 32lbs and was wearing clothes designed for children twice his age.

Gorgeous little Atlas has become a social media star on his mother’s TikTok channel with over 120,000 followers and thousands of fans who “love his buns”.

Despite his videos getting millions of views and from devoted admirers, Nabille says she was attacked by cruel trolls who claimed she had to feed him McDonald’s.

But what they didn’t know was that the bouncy little boy was breast-fed and doctors had no concerns about his size.

The 31-year-old Colorado mom told The Sun, “I think the most hurtful comments were comments about him like, ‘Poor baby, look what you’re doing to him’ or ‘He’ll have diabetes when he’s two years old.’

“I couldn’t take it.

“Some people would say I fed him McDonald’s as a baby or he should be in a McDonald’s ad, it was ridiculous.

“As many times as I would say he’s just breastfeeding, people don’t care, they just want to comment to comment.

“They called me a bad mom for setting him up for an illness like they knew my life or something. Again…even after checking several times, he only drank breast milk.

When asked how she dealt with negative comments, she added: “I just blocked a lot of people.

“I stopped posting for a while because I was feeling really hopeless being so proud of my healthy big baby.

“I was new to this kind of publicity so it took me a minute to realize that unfortunately this happens and I just ignored the trolls.

“Eventually other followers would take care of them, I didn’t have to communicate with negativity.”

Her little boy was growing so fast that Nabille kept buying new clothes for the growing tot.

She told The Sun: “I would have to buy bigger clothes every week because he would outgrow them.

“He couldn’t fit in the sweater for very long because his thighs were so big. I felt bad when he got stuck in it and it was a team effort to get him out.”

At 25 weeks pregnant, the midwives told Nabille to expect a large baby and advised against a natural birth as his head was 2 cm larger than average.

Atlas was born via c-section weighing a reasonable 7lbs 14oz but Nabille believes her son is already reaching out for his father Tyler, who is 6ft 2.

At six months, Atlas was in the 99th percentile, the highest end of a scale used to measure babies, meaning he was severely obese.

When he was ten months old, he weighed 32 pounds – almost a stone heavier than the average height of a child that age.

His mother says doctors never worried about the tot because he was getting the right amount of nutrients from his milk diet.

The mother-of-two said: “You[doctors] were never concerned. His pediatrician’s nurses loved him!

“They called each other when we took him out just so they could come and hug him. They said he was a big cuddly baby full of buns, but nothing beyond that.

“They said they weren’t worried about overfeeding since he was exclusively breastfed.”

Now at the age of two, Atlas’ gorgeous buns are less visible, but his mother says he’s still a big toddler for his age.

Fans on his mother’s TikTok channel commented: “His small cheeks omg.

Another added: “Does butter come with these buns? He’s so precious!”

Nabille said: “He eats all day but tiny bits. Snacks here and there. He LOVES Nutri-Grain bars and eggs, which he could live on if possible.

“…He’s losing weight now that he’s a more active toddler.”

XXXL BABY

A mother in Indonesia claimed her baby was so overweight that she was forced to dress him in her father’s clothes.

At 16 months, Muhammad Kenzi Alfaro weighs 60 pounds – more than a typical eight-year-old – and wears size XXXL diapers.

Footage of the giant baby went viral as his mother helped him sit up at their home in Bandung Regency, Indonesia.
