A KILLER wife who gave her husband a poisoned curry has been spotted shopping after her release from prison.
Dena Thompson became known as the Black Widow Killer for courting and manipulating her three husbands.
She relied on sustained seduction to get men to fall in love with her in order to make money by tricking and even killing the men caught in her web.
Thompson was serving time for cheating on her two surviving husbands and was cleared of attempting to kill her third husband with a bat and knife, as she claimed she feared for her life during a bondage session gone awry.
But it was the death of her second husband, Julian Webb, that confirmed Thompson’s status as a cold and calculated killer.
In 2003, it was revealed that the Black Widow had poisoned Julian on his 31st birthday in June 1994 by crushing a lethal dose of painkillers into his hot curry – a crime for which she was jailed for life.
But 19 years later – today the killer was spotted out and about after being controversially released by the parole board last month.
The 61-year-old was spotted after a stroll in Poundland wearing a cheap black anorak, jeggings and Skechers trainers.
Her third husband, Richard Thompson, who survived the killer’s attack, told the Mail Online today: “She’s going to get karma.”
Martyn Underhill, a former Detective Chief Inspector who uncovered Thompson’s crimes, said: “This woman is every man’s nightmare. For a decade, she targeted men sexually, financially, and physically.
“I think she still poses a threat. The authorities need to keep a close eye on her.”
Born in Hampstead, West London, daughter of a prison officer, Thompson has used lonely hearts columns to cast her net across southern England to find single men looking for love since her early 20s.
Fueled by an intense hatred of men, she combined a bubbly personality with an apparent desire to please to lull her victims into a false sense of security.
She would gain sympathy by falsely claiming she was dying of cancer and being afraid of a violent former lover.
She then confiscated the man’s savings and promised to pay them back once she received money from a fictitious lottery payout or a fake painting auction.
