A shooting involving multiple victims was reported at a Walmart store in Ohio.
Witnesses reported seeing a gunman with a backpack open fire at the Beavercreek Walmart around 8:30 p.m.
Beavercreek police confirmed on social media that officers responded to a shooting at the store.
“The building has been evacuated and secured,” the department wrote in a statement.
Police have yet to confirm how many people were shot and whether anyone died.
Four victims were flown to the hospital by helicopter after the shooting, according to a Dayton, Ohio, reporter Steve Norris.
A witness said she was shopping for Thanksgiving items at the store when she saw the shooter.
“I was looking for Thanksgiving supplies when this guy walked right past me with an assault rifle and started shooting,” the woman said, sobbing.
“He shot about ten times, and after that I don’t know how many more.”
“I’m so happy to be alive now,” she said, crying. “He walked right past me.”
She added: “I heard shots and I just ran. All I heard was gunshots over and over again.”
“I’ve never been so scared in my life. Thank God I was at the front of the store when it happened.”
The witness also said police were at the scene when she ran out of the store and into the parking lot.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, Homeland Security and the Greene County Coroner’s Office responded to the store.
Beavercreek is a suburb of Dayton located approximately 60 miles north of Cincinnati.
