“Multiple dead” and “20 injured” after mass shooting at birthday party in Alabama

According to local police and witnesses, a mass shooting took place last night at a teenager’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama.

The gunman reportedly opened fire around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, and police and emergency services rushed to the scene to respond to multiple injuries and possible deaths.

Officials have not yet commented on the number of victims, but graphic video from the scene showed six people lying still on the ground – believed to be teenagers.

A witness stated that several people were killed and white sheets covered the bodies. Officials have not yet commented on the incident.

People believed to be the victims’ families gathered outside a local hospital last night.

Dadeville Police Chief Jonathan Floyd said there would be a press conference.

The suspect’s identity, whereabouts and motive are unknown, but local news outlet WRBL reported that an alleged altercation led to the shooting.

Dadeville is a small town in Tallapoosa County with about 3000 residents. It is about 44 miles northeast of Montgomery.
