Motorcyclist injured in Cape Coral crash, police looking for witnesses



Cape Coral Police are looking for witnesses to an accident involving a motorcycle on Wednesday.

The crash happened around 8:42pm at the intersection of Diplomat Parkway East and NE 5th Place.

One motorcyclist, Frank E. Sangster, 33, suffered life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Cape Coral Police Department.

Police say a North Fort Myers woman driving a 2017 Nissan Altima sped out in front of Sangster.

Sangster lay down on his motorcycle to avoid a collision, but ended up hitting his car and being ejected, police said.

The woman told police that she did not see the motorcyclist.

A third vehicle was involved after failing to see the motorcycle on the road and hitting it.

Sangster was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to another hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Police said he was undergoing surgery.
