Most shocking school lunches are envisioned from barely discernible vegetables to tiny portions and a slice of turkey.

The most shocking and stomach-churning school lunch has sparked debate on social media when photos of the unappetizing meal were shared online.

Parents shared their distaste for some of the lunches served to their children as they vented about the “nutritious” school meals or the lack of them.

High schools across the country provide school lunches to low-income students to feed them and provide the nutrition they need to complete the day.

This week, a father caused outrage after sharing pictures of his son’s small servings.

Chris Vangellow shared a photo on Facebook, there were four small chicken nuggets, a few young carrots, and a small portion of white rice.

Another meal consisted of just a slice of pizza and a few slices of orange.

While the third meal, Vangellow’s son told him, was simply “not enough” with just a small roll of bread and what appeared to be canned tomatoes.

“I think the Parishville School Lunch can be a little lacking. [E]place for a non 6’5 kid like Ash. If this is a game day, I don’t think any team will get enough energy from this,” he wrote.

Vangellow, a father of four, also claimed that one of his other children didn’t even have any “tasteless dried carrots” because none were available by the time he arrived for lunch. .

He says his kids have complained that “because lunch is now free for everyone, rations have been reduced.”

Vangellow called the situation ridiculous.

“Don’t come to me with ‘you get what you pay for’ crap,” he continued.

“Yes, we can do that and sometimes the kids choose to bring something from home or will buy an extra lunch to refill them to get them through the day.”

However, Vangellow says that not every family can do that.

“We don’t live in a very rich area. Some kids may not get a lot out of it at home and this is what they have to survive,” he added.

‘SURPRISE!’

The post attracted a lot of attention, with people making critical comments at the school.

One indignant viewer commented: “Shameful! You need to go to the administrators and show them this photo and file a complaint!”

The viral post on Facebook prompted the general manager to react with the post backlash in a public statement on the school’s district website.

In the post, the superintendent said the canteen manager and himself are forming a group to recognize and change the school lunch.

“Me and the Cafe Manager are creating a team to address meal dissatisfaction,” he wrote.

“Besides me and the Canteen Manager, this working group will include relevant students [4] and parents [4] along with a representative from the Health Commission. “

The superintendent also noted that “this team will explore ways to make school meals more palatable while still meeting the stringent USDA requirements of the National School Lunch Program.”

‘SLOP’

However, this is not the first time complaints and photos of school lunches have been posted online.

Last year, Zellie Thomas, the school’s teacher, also shared photos of “delicious” lunch at her own school.

One of the meals she envisions includes an unappetizing piece of turkey and some strangely colored carrots.

And another showed only a slice of processed meat and a few slices of carrot.

Yet another consisted of a dry bread roll with a slice of meat and cheese glued on one side.
