Most Google Snacks in NJ are Domino’s

We need to talk.

One of the more alarming infographics in memory recently came out and I’m still trying to figure out the results.

A cooking website called recently revealed the most searched fast food restaurant on Google in each state.

For New Jersey, the answer is Domino’s.

You read it right. Domino’s.

See the nationwide results for yourself below.

For a population that loves to brag about how great pizza is around the state, this is a shame.

This has nothing against Domino’s. Domino’s and other fast food pizza chains have a purpose. Many of us have been put in a dangerous situation when the local pizzeria is closed or you need to come up with a cheap delivery option to get drunk or stoned butlers.

But this is taking it too far.

You don’t see Taco Bell at the top of Google’s most searched lists in the Southwest states. Why? Because it’s as great as Taco Bell, why would Americans in that area choose a fast food chain over their local establishments serving the food for which the area is famous?

If I am from another part of the United States visiting friends or family in New Jersey and they order or take me to Domino’s, I will never speak to them again. Where are our standards?

Some of us need to do some serious soul searching.

Since some of our New Jersey neighbors cannot trust their pizza decisions, I suggest that NJ pizzerias start solving their own problems.

HowToCook points out that by 2020, Domino’s generated more than 70% of its sales through digital ordering channels.

With that in mind, I urge every pizzeria in NJ to not have their bottom line impacted to not only start allowing digital ordering, but also promote it aggressively.

When next year’s results are released, I’d like to see McDonald’s top the list as a normalcy that doesn’t betray one of its core values.
