More than a million Americans will receive up to $650 in tax refunds in the mail starting next week – are you eligible?

Tax rebates of up to $650 are due to be paid to more than a million households starting next week.

After a paper shortage delayed the first round of rebate reviews, Indiana officials now say the money is on its way.

Those who haven’t yet received their $125 automatic tax refund should expect to see their checks in a few weeks.

A lack of paper on which to print the checks prevented them from coming out as planned.

Emily Boesen, a spokeswoman for the State Audit Office, said the checks could be issued as early as the week of August 15.

This includes not only the taxpayer refund, but also the $200 payment recently signed by Gov. Eric Holcomb.

The two payments are combined into one check.

However, the total amount of the check depends on how individuals filed their taxes.

Individual taxpayers will receive a $325 check, while married couples applying together will receive a $650 check.

Ms. Boesen added that about 1.7 million checks still need to be printed.

The chartered accountant’s office estimates that 50,000 checks are printed a day and that it will take 24 to 48 hours for them to arrive in the mail.

The state is aiming to have all checks printed and mailed by October 2022.

Officials are now asking Hoosiers not to contact the state until Nov. 1 about missing payments.

Other states are offering help

Many other states are offering relief to residents as inflation remains high.

The Connecticut Premium Pay Program was made available to support the workforce that has kept the state running during the Covid pandemic.

Under the $30 million program, essential workers can request up to $1,000 in direct payments.

Meanwhile, thousands of Hawaii residents are set to receive a one-time tax refund this month.

Those earning less than $100,000 per year get a $300 rebate.

If your income is above this threshold but below $200,000, you will receive $100.

In addition, families with children could get more money.

For example, a family of four could receive $1,200.

Up to $1,500 worth of tax rebates have been issued in Colorado.

To receive the payment, residents must be 18 years of age on December 31, 2021 and file a state income tax return before the deadline.

If you filed taxes by June 30, 2022, you will receive your refund by September 30, 2022.
