Morbius delayed until April 2022

The pandemic forced movie theaters around the world to close for a number of months. With nowhere to show them, studios delayed the arrival of their biggest films, sometimes multiple times. Others, like Warner Bros, decided to release blockbuster movies on streaming services like HBO Max. One of the movies that experienced the most delays was MarvelMorbius’s, and now the release date of the Jared Leto-led film has been pushed back once again.

Morbius is supposed to hit cinemas on January 28, 2022. With less than a month to go, it looks like that date is almost set at this point. That’s not the case and Morbius now won’t be here until April 1, 2022. Sadly, despite the new date, this isn’t an April Fools joke. This is the fourth time that Morbius’ appearance has been repulsed.

In fact, by the time Morbius arrives, if the new release date is April 1, it will be delayed by more than a year. Morbius was originally scheduled to arrive in March 2021. It was moved to October, then January 21, and then delayed another week until January 28. The reason for the delay Morbius’s most recent delay remains unexplained but likely Sony Be on the lookout for the latest spike in COVID cases and movie theaters are likely to be closed again, or at least less busy.

The latest Morbius delay means Marvel fans will have to wait more than two months before discovering where and when the movie will take place. Despite being a Sony Marvel product, several elements of the Morbius trailer suggested that it, or at least parts of it, take place in MCU. Michael Keaton’s Vulture is in the movie, a character that’s already part of the MCU.

Elsewhere in the trailer are public references to Venom, and Spiderman painting on the wall. It’s also important to note that despite the most recent delay, Morbius will still be in theaters ahead of Dr. Strange in Madness’s Multiverse. While there’s no clear connection between those two films at this point, their initial release dates and careful planning for their new films make it seem like Marvel doesn’t want fans watch Dr. Strange 2 before they see Morbius.
