Alonso has lost concentration

Fernando Alonso has revealed a loss of concentration that caused his crash in Q3 at Monaco.

“I lost concentration, so I braked too late and the tires locked up,” he told Autosport.

“I could probably use the escape route, thinking back, but I felt like I could make the corner and I couldn’t.

“So first of all I apologized to the team because this year every mistake costs money for the cost cap.

“So it’s hard to accept, so I’m not very proud of my qualifying. Let’s hope we do a better job tomorrow.”
