Mom’s chilling words to her husband after ‘strangling three children with an exercise band’ emerge as she faces the judge from the hospital bed

A MOTHER is said to have told her husband that she attempted suicide after choking her three children to death with exercise bands, according to prosecutors.

Lindsay Clancy’s distraught husband is said to have yelled “she killed the kids” when he discovered his children dead after a relatively normal afternoon ended in murder, a court has heard.

The Massachusetts nurse and mother is accused of killing Cora, five, and Dawson, three, and fatally injuring eight-month-old Callan at their Duxbury home on January 24.

Describing the events leading up to the alleged murders, prosecutors have claimed that the murders were calculated and planned by Clancy, while the defense alleges she suffers from a mental illness.

The mother started the day by taking Cora to a doctor’s appointment, reports NBC 10.

Attorneys said Tuesday that staff at the doctor’s office reported that nothing was wrong and that Clancy appeared to be acting normally.

She then returned home where she played in the snow with Cora and Dawson. The three built a snowman and sent photos of it to the family, prosecutors claim.

She then began researching Kids Miralax, which can be used to treat constipation in children.

The mother also went to a nearby restaurant to order takeout and asked her husband Patrick what he wanted.

“I didn’t cook anything, it’s been a long day,” she reportedly wrote to her husband.

They planned to get food at ThreeV Restaurant after reportedly searching how far it would be by car.

Prosecutors claimed it was suspicious they would have dinner at a location so far from their home, but admitted the family had been there before.

She is said to have asked her husband to pick up the food and get stool softeners for one of the children.

While he was shopping at a local CVS, the two chatted for 14 seconds about what medication she wanted.

Patrick said the conversation was perfectly normal, but it sounded like his wife was in the middle of something, prosecutors claim.

Surveillance footage later showed him picking up their food and arriving home just after 6 p.m.

When he arrived, prosecutors claim he did not see or hear his wife or children.

He called his wife and went into her house to find the bedroom door locked and broke in to see blood, lawyers claim.

Patrick reportedly found his wife on the ground outside the house and asked, “What have you done?”

She told him that she had tried to kill herself and that the children were in the basement.

While calling 911, Patrick went to find the children, who still had the exercise band wrapped around them, prosecutors allege.

The call caught him “screaming in agony and shock,” lawyers said.

Cora and Callan were in the study of their finished basement while Dawson was on the floor of their home office.

Patrick reportedly yelled uncontrollably during the devastating incident, “She killed the kids.”

Clancy faces double murder, triple strangulation, and triple assault and assault with a deadly weapon.

She remains hospitalized with multiple broken bones in her back and chest.

Her defense attorney said it’s unlikely she’ll be able to move her lower body again.

CALL FOR HELP

A harrowing emergency call revealed that Clancy attempted to slit her throat before jumping out the window of her home.

“A female party jumped from the top floor of the house,” a first responder is heard saying over the audio.

“Impact injury, neck tears — she’s conscious at this point,” he continued, later explaining that it was a 20-foot fall.

Another respondent is heard saying that they weren’t immediately sure where the knife “or whatever she slashed herself” was.

Dispatchers also described the call as a “suicidal situation,” according to the New York Post.

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington has argued that Clancy suffered a nervous breakdown and that she was on too much medication when she did the unthinkable.

He hasn’t denied she killed her children, but claims she was in a dangerous condition after taking dozens of drugs.

“It even went on like this until a week earlier her husband went to the doctor and asked for her help and said, ‘Please, you’re going to turn her into a zombie,'” the lawyer said.

‘INTENSIVE LOVE’

Clancy’s husband has since urged the public to forgive his wife, saying her “condition” has worsened.

“She loved being a nurse, but nothing matched her intense love for our children and her dedication to being a mother. It was everything she ever wanted. Her passion taught me how to be a better father.”

He didn’t reveal what Clancy had reportedly been suffering from, however social media posts from Clancy suggest she suffered from postpartum anxiety.

In July 2022, the mother shared her anxiety battles on Facebook just six weeks after giving birth to her third child, according to the Boston Globe.

She wrote about how she felt “connected” again and focused on diet and exercise as “it made all the difference.”

The post is no longer publicly visible.

An investigation into the tragic deaths of the three young children is underway.

Clancy is currently still recovering from her injuries in the hospital.

Last week, her attorney was granted a request for a psychological evaluation.

She was charged Thursday from her hospital room with murder and assault in connection with the deaths of Cora and Dawson.

Clancy has yet to face any charges related to the death of her eight-month-old child.
