AN upbeat diner has been turned away after trying to propose to a woman in line at a busy McDonald’s.
Footage shows the man on one knee holding a ring box – but the woman he’s proposing to wants nothing to do with him.

The pair were visiting the golden arches at Sandton City Mall in Johannesburg, South Africa when they decided to pop the big question.
As the woman places her order at the counter, the man behind her awaits her response.
She looks at the McDonald’s clerk before turning and shaking her head at the man.
The pair have a heated exchange while the woman appears excited by the gesture.
The large crowd surrounding the pair encouraged them to accept the proposal – but the roaring cheers from onlookers only seemed to make the situation worse.
The woman storms off, leaving the man to follow her out of the fast food joint with a cart full of McDonald’s but no fiancé.
Sibusisiwe Moyo was in the store to witness the disappointing incident.
She told News24: “People started coming when they saw him on his knee. He was on his knee for about three minutes.
“She just walked away and kept walking out of the mall and he followed her.”
Viewers on social media felt sorry for the man, who looks dejected as he exits.
One person said: “It’s sad that he thought he had a number ahead of her to propose to her at McDonald’s in front of everyone.
“All I know is that he didn’t listen to her because she probably said how she wanted her proposal.”
Another wrote: “She has every right to refuse… the proposal at McDonald’s is wild as f***.”
It comes after a photo of a burger bun with an engagement ring in it was shared with the Facebook group Optimistic or Pessimistic, where it has been liked more than 18,000 times.
And it has garnered more than 10,000 comments after going viral online, with people unable to contain their horror at the proposal.
People have branded it the worst way to ask someone to marry you, dubbing it “McNightmare.”
One person added, “That was someone’s McDream.”
