Dramatic footage shows the suspect arrested in São Paulo municipality in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, after he tried to flee by car but crashed into three other vehicles.

Seven women reported the 36-year-old to authorities, claiming they had been tricked into lending him sums of money – with one of the alleged victims claiming he borrowed £35,000 from her.

Investigators discovered that Renan had multiple profiles on dating apps including Tinder, Happn and Lovoo under the name Augusto Keller, reports G1.

The suspected scammer, who has been wanted since last year, would claim his parents were Germans who died in a car crash in Aracatuba.

He poses as a civil engineer who enjoys cooking and is looking for a serious relationship.

The alleged scammer then began dating his victims – all between the ages of 34 and 40, working in high-earning positions – and even meeting their families.

His next move would be to borrow sums of money in which he explained he was having financial difficulties before disappearing.

In one instance, he even suggested starting a business with one of the women, but of course disappeared when he got the money, UOL reports.

He was eventually caught in a joint operation by police and prosecutors.

Prosecutor Erika Pucci da Costa Leal, who is working on the case, said: “Augusto presents himself as a loving, thoughtful man with stories of lacking close family or heavy workloads to keep the victim from being included in his social circle Circle.”

He never deleted any of his profiles on dating apps and they were still active at the time of his arrest.

His Tinder bio reads: “I’ve been single for a year. I joined the app to seek a serious relationship. If you are looking for sex or fun please skip my profile.”

Pucci believes there are more victims and has urged women who believe they have been scammed by Renan to come forward.
