WINTER is upon us, which means we’ll face some icy roads and slippery sidewalks.
The cold can bring hazardous conditions, so it’s important to be prepared and take extra precautions when driving or simply walking outside.
A woman named Autumn, who went online @honestlyautumn, recently posted a video gave fellow moms and dads a tip for pushing their baby strollers on ice-covered streets.
TikTok begins with two parents struggling to move their baby’s stroller along an icy sidewalk.
The couple was sliding down the sidewalk and the carriage slid with them.
“99% of parents don’t know about this,” she said while holding some lanyards.
In the next frame, she shows the wheel of a stroller with multiple laces wrapped around it.
Zip fasteners are spaced only a few inches apart to ensure that the wheel is protected and excess laces are cut off.
These plastic tie bars allow the wheels to better grip on slippery terrain and give the stroller more traction.
Many viewers thanked for the hack:
“First time mother and I live in the north. I appreciate this TikTok so much! Nothing can stop us,” one user wrote.
“Canadian pregnant here! Thank you,” another added.
Autumn has become famous on TikTok for her videos offering parenting advice and helpful family tricks.
In other clips, she shared a parenting secret “for kids who don’t want to take drugs”.
She poured out a can of Honest Kids juice, then filled it with the appropriate infant dose of Tylenol.
She plugged the straw again into the juice box and gave it to her young daughter, who happily drank from the straw.
In this case, ignorance is bliss.
