The life-changing $1 million cash prize and welterweight belt now await the winner.
And it will mark a stunning transformation since the night Taylor made his pro debut in Florida in 2016.
He said, “My very first MMA fight, I got paid $700. It was like $200 to fight $200 to win and then I got a bonus.
“It wasn’t that bad, for MMA, I guess. But it was nothing life changing.”
Taylor knows he may be just 15 minutes away from changing his life and that of his family, but insists it won’t change him.
He said, “I feel like with a million dollars there’s a million reasons to do different things. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
“Obviously a million dollars could make things in my life and my family’s life a lot better, and that’s what I intend to do.
“In my family, I’m like the breadwinner, if that makes sense, so when an opportunity like this comes along, I can change the course of generations and make things right.

“But as for me as a person, they still have to see me next season.”
Taylor started the year by winning the PFL’s Challenger Series, which gave him a chance in the regular season.
Stars in each weight have two qualifiers, earning points for each type of win.
The top four in each weight then advance to the knockout stages where the final bout awaits for a $1 million win.
For Taylor, he only earned three points in his first two fights after a point win and loss.
But after Russia’s Magomed Umalatov was pulled out of the semifinals in Wales, Taylor was brought on as a substitute against ex-UFC champion Rory MacDonald.
The American used his chance with both fists, knocking MacDonald down and signaling the guard to pass.

Taylor said: “Let me break it down, when Rory fought Roby Lawler he was my age, he was fighting for his first world title at 25.
“I’m 25 and fighting for my first world title, when I fought Rory his record was double my record at that age.
“I felt like fighting him almost like passing the torch like you’ve had your time now is my time to shine.”
