During the ninth inning of the contest, Austin Slater hit a 95mph ball right out of the bolts.

The foul shot flew hard over the line and straight into the press corden.

Immediately, a colleague asked in the comments section, “Kelsey, you okay?”

Kelsey, stationed at the end of the Rockies’ dugout, had taken the ball straight to the head as it flew off-bat at about 100 mph.

The reporter left the dugout and gave worried fans a thumbs up, but immediately went to the hospital.

She received a CT scan and stitches to close the wound, which was smacking the middle of her forehead.

Kelsey took to Twitter to confirm she was fine after the five-hour A&E stint – and revealed a gnarly-looking scar.

She wrote: “I took a 95 mile route ride to my head.

“I have never experienced such support. Thank you for the prayers.

“I had a CT scan to look for internal bleeding/fractures and thank goodness it came back clear. I got internal and external stitches.”

It comes four years after she sustained a fractured eye socket after a similar incident that saw Wingert in the line of fire during a game in Atlanta.

Elsewhere in MLB, a showdown in Milwaukee was halted when a fan ran onto the field and started blasting some moves.

And Toronto star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was so upset with his shot that he snapped his racquet completely over his knee.
