Owners voted unanimously in favor of the account lockout, effective after the player collective bargaining agreement expired at 11:59 p.m. KST on Wednesday.

This marks the first job shutdown in baseball since a strike shortened the 1994 and 1995 seasons. It’s unclear if it will affect the opening date this upcoming spring.
The lockout prevents teams and players from having any contact, and stops trading and contracts free agents.
NS New York Mets’ latest signings pitcher Max Scherzer and his agent, Scott Boras, resolved the situation on Wednesday.
“There are a lot of different ways with the players as a whole that we believe we can make the game better. We are fully committed to doing that,” Sherzer told reporters. “I hear every other player, young or old, they say club and clubhouse are the same. Not only I think this, but everyone. That is obvious to all the players.”
