Missing Texas soldier Craig Chamberlain, whose wife Cameron died in Killeen after he mysteriously disappeared, is found alive

DAYS after his wife’s mysterious death, a soldier who disappeared from his off-base home in Texas last week has been found alive.

The details of where Craig Chamberlain was found and why he disappeared are not known at this time. However, this came after his family and authorities led a large search party.

However, there are still many questions surrounding his disappearance and the subsequent death of his wife.

Craig’s mother, Virginia, told it The daily beast that her son had a “rocky” marriage to his wife Cameron, whom he met in 2020 and married that same year.

Cameron reported her husband missing on May 15, according to base officials.

She said she last saw him at his home in Killeen, Texas.

However, Virginia doesn’t believe her son ran away and describes his marriage to Cameron as “not very friendly”.

“They just threw themselves into marriage without even thinking about it,” she said.

Virginia would reveal more information about the couple, but said Cameron’s death came as a shock and that she “breaks her heart for her family.”

It is not known if the couple’s estranged relationship had anything to do with Craig’s disappearance or Cameron’s death.

How Cameron died is also unclear at this time, as it’s not known if an autopsy has been completed.

She appeared on the local news after reporting her husband missing, pleading with the public for information and revealing that Craig disappeared after the two got into an argument.

Cameron said Craig is “in great danger if he is alive”.

She said her husband struggled with depression and wasn’t the man she married in 2020, possibly suggesting his mental health and dislike of running Fort Cavazos – formerly known as Fort Hood – played a part may have played his disappearance .

“When I met him, he was a carefree, loving and laid-back person. He didn’t have any evil in his body,” Cameron said KWTX.

“He had no hatred in his heart. He was a happy man. And (Fort Cavazos) and his leadership totally destroyed it.”

But Virginia said Cameron’s comments were not consistent with Craig’s family and the military, making the search for him difficult at first.

Virginia last heard from her son on May 8 after receiving a text message from him, which she says is nothing unusual given his reputation for being a “mama’s boy.”

He’s the youngest of his siblings and his mother said he’s not the type to run away, which is why Virginia and Craig’s father Gordon texted him every day when he went missing.

“Thanks to the search that brought us to the right place, we found our son,” said Virginia. “Experienced.”
