And the manager believes it could cost them a chance to sign the Brazilian striker from Manchester City.

Jesus is believed to have been made available by Pep Guardiola’s side after they struck a deal to bring Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Arsenal have led the chase to sign Jesus.

However, they still haven’t matched City’s £50million asking price or even opened official talks on personal terms.

Now that delay has allowed Chelsea, Tottenham and Real Madrid to join the race to sign Jesus.

And the Daily Mail states that this has led to major concerns from Arteta that they could miss the forward.

Arsenal and Arteta are desperate for flashy reinforcements this season.

Alexandre Lacazette has already left on a free transfer and they are left with only Eddie Nketiah as a recognized striker at the club.

Jesus started in 21 of City’s Prem games last season but could find his importance waning following the arrival of Haaland.

AC Milan are also said to have joined the race, with Jesus admiring the Italian club from Ronaldo O Fenomeno’s days at San Siro.

Jesus could ask Ronaldo for advice after revealing they are close in 2017.

The City forward told the Mail: “We speak a lot and I know now that if I ever have any doubts or questions I can ask.

“I’m very proud of that. He was the best player I’ve ever seen.”

Jesus made 41 appearances for City in all competitions last season, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists.

He has scored 95 goals in 236 games since joining from Palmeiras in January 2017.
