Midland man indicted for possession of meth and fentanyl

PECOS, Texas (Nexstar) – According to a recent press release from the United States Department of Justice, Edgar Parra, 36, of Midland, was charged with illegal possession of narcotics and a firearm.
The illegal drugs that Parra is charged with with intent to distribute and conspiracy to possess, are fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Police stated that Parra is being charged by a federal indictment for the following:
– Conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine
-Three counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl
-Two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
-One count of possession of a firearm during and while conducting drug trafficking
crime; and a felony possession charge.
If Parra is found guilty, he faces 40 years in prison on charges of conspiracy to appropriate and possess fentanyl charges. For methamphetamine possession, Parra could face up to 20 years in prison.
For gun possession and drug trafficking, Parra could face an additional five years in prison. Finally, if convicted, Parra could face up to 10 years in prison for possession.
Parra will appear in court on Thursday, January 27.
