Michael Strahan slammed for “casting shadows” with predictions as NFL fans left “disappointed”.
NFL legend Michael Strahan divided the crowd with his predictions for the AFC and NFC title games.
The 51-year-old Fox Sports analyst spoke ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles’ showdown with the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Strahan played his entire NFL career with the New York Giants.
And the former Super Bowl winner didn’t take any hits with his predictions of who would be next month’s showpiece.
The panel was asked to select who they thought would win in Sunday’s two games and meet in Arizona on Feb. 12.
Strahan went for a majority of the panel with his first pick, predicting the Eagles would defeat the 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field.
That came as a surprise to some Philly fans, who were convinced the former giant had “cast shades” throughout the pre-game show.
One fan wrote: “@MichaelStrahan always wants to cast some shadows on the negative side of Philly! That’s why his @Giants are on the couch!”
Another added: “I’m just putting it out there. I can’t stand that @michaelstrahan doesn’t give credit to Eagles but actually picks them to win.”
His second pick certainly raised some eyebrows though – when Strahan faced off against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The seven-time Pro Bowler believes Koe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals will make it past the Chiefs and reach a second straight Super Bowl.
And that didn’t go over too well with some members of the Chiefs Kingdom.
One wrote: “Can’t believe you are taking action on the @Chiefs and @PatrickMahomes #REALLY.”
Another raged, “Anyone who thinks the Chiefs are disrespectful just listen to Strahan.”
While another said: “Disappointed with your SB picks [Michael Strahan]. #ChiefsKingdom all day, every day.”
Strahan wasn’t alone in his selection on the jury, with legendary coach Jimmy Johnson aiming for an Eagles vs. Bengals Super Bowl.
And Burrow certainly tops the head-to-head stats after winning three straight games against Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Away from the NFL, Strahan was recently joined by his girlfriend Kayla Quick when the GMA host received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Strahan has reportedly been dating entrepreneur Kayla Quick since 2015 but has kept their relationship out of the public eye.
Michael, looking chic in a navy blue suit, was also joined by his mother and children Tanita, Isabella and Sophia.
Ana Martinez, the Walk of Fame producer, revealed Strahan was the first sports star to be honored with the gong.
She said: “Michael’s extensive background in esports and sportscasting makes him the perfect choice to complement the famous pavement.”
