Michael Owen picks his Premier League title favorite as he warns Arsenal and Man City Man Utd are in the hunt

MICHAEL OWEN believes Arsenal are “in the driver’s seat” but insists Manchester United cannot be left out of the Premier League title race.

The Gunners have climbed back up to the top of the table with a game in hand after a dramatic 4-2 win at Aston Villa.

Manchester City are back in second place after dropping points at Nottingham Forest, two points behind the north Londoners.

Third-placed United, on the other hand, have enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester at Old Trafford and are just three points behind City.

Liverpool legend Owen admits Arsenal are favorites but warned there will be “a lot of ups and downs and twists and turns”.

However, the former United star still believes the rejuvenated Red Devils could be in for a shock.

Owen told Premier League Productions: “It’s amazing, isn’t it?

“Because you see they sat there with 52 points and it’s a really good total but you just don’t feel like they’re absolutely purring and at the top of their game this season so far, Manchester City.

“And Arsenal, although they’ve had some dubious results lately, are probably sitting confident now.

“They still got a few points against Manchester City – and probably had the tougher game.

“Throw your mind back about a month though and Manchester City would probably rip your hand off if you’re just two points behind now because that gap was quite wide.

“Everyone knows there will be so many ups and downs and twists and turns – and nobody mentions Manchester United.

“Because if Manchester City are involved, and of course Manchester United if they win their game, they’re only three points behind City so you can’t rule anything out at the moment.

“But it has to be said that Arsenal are behind the wheel.”
