The officer, who has not been identified, can be seen in the front yard of a home as two dogs appear in the video.
The dogs, a smaller white one and a larger black one, were seen walking out of the mansion and as they approached the officer, the officer spoke to the owner in Spanish, with in a loud voice, “Sir, agarre el perro, (Sir, grab the dog). “Once again the officer was heard telling the housemates to grab the dog.
As soon as the officer finished telling someone in the house to grab the dog, the black dog was seen walking towards a second police car. Meanwhile, the officer turned his attention to that vehicle and when he was seen following the dog, he heard shouts in the direction of the cruiser, “Señora,” and then “boarding.” He was telling a second person, possibly a second police officer, to get in the car.
As the officer walked out of the block toward another police cruiser, the dog turned his attention to the officer and that’s when the video captured the sound of a gunshot.
A total of six shots were fired and the officer was then heard saying a punishment.
He was then heard on the police station saying, “Shoot shot, shot.”
The video then captures a man and a woman exiting the house in the direction of the officer.
The woman was heard saying in Spanish, “Mataron el perro? (Did they kill the dog?). The policeman was then heard saying in Spanish, “Soltaron al perro? (Did you let the dog out?)
Video then shows a woman screaming and crying, and a man is also heard screaming.
The dog’s owners withheld the services of an attorney in the case and
Animal activists support what they call “unfair killing of a dog”.
Miami-Dade police said it was an active and public investigation.
