There are no confirmed reports of a meteor yet.
KATV’s Todd Yakoubian shared a video on Twitter showing a flash of light over a driveway.
“Huge #meteor lighting up the Arkansas sky. Check out the flash of light and its reflection in the car’s windshield,” the tweet said.
“Reports are coming in from a #bolide / #meteor around 7 p.m. over central and northeast #Arkansas. #arwx #ARStormTeam,” wrote chief meteorologist Keith Monahan.
“If you had something shaking in the house or a big noise, it was probably the sonic boom as the meteor burned over the state. No earthquake reports from @USGS.”
Many have taken to Twitter to share their own experiences with the meteor.
“About 30 minutes ago I heard a loud bang and the house shook. Local news is now reporting a #bolide / #meteor explosion over Arkansas,” one person tweeted.
